bridesmaids' dresses

Pattern(s): McCall's 3571

Fabric: silk damask (bodices), sueded silk shantung (skirts), cotton (lining for bodices)

Construction Notes: The bodices have princess seams and three-quarter length sleeves. They button up the back. The skirts are simple A-line shape with a side zipper.

Miscellaneous Ramblings: I found the fabric for my bridesmaids' dresses before I found the pattern! I knew I wanted a pale, blush pink and found some lovely silks at Denver Fabrics. I chose this pattern because I thought it would work well with the fabrics and I liked the fact that - shock! - the formal bodices actually had sleeves! My mother-in-law, mother, and I all worked together to sew these up. My attendants were my three sisters-to-be, Emily, Alanna, and Louisa.
